The stick is made from snakewood, but without the distinctive spotted pattern--a wood often referred to as amorette. The pattern of this bow was loosely based on a Dodd bow, with some stylistic changes to the mammoth ivory frog and button.

Baroque bows can be made with a choice of woods for the stick--snakewood, pernambuco, and Ipe being the most common, and ebony, snakewood, or mammoth ivory for the frog and button.

Baroque bows differ greatly in properties such as length, weight, stiffness, camber, and balance depending on the musical period. For this reason, I make baroque bows only by special order to ensure that the player gets exactly what is desired.

Prices for baroque bows begin at $1500.
